We all love to eat muffin tops, well-known as the best part of a muffin. Unfortunately, too many (or too much of any food) can lead to the dreaded “muffin-top” – that flabby flesh that hangs over the top of your jeans and creates unsightly bulges in your clothing.

1. Burpees

Get rid of muffin top with these 5 exercise moves - Burpees




The Burpee is a popular exercise that not only firms your midsection, it also strengthens your core and burns calories.

Begin in a semi-squat position with your feet slightly apart, hands held in front of your chest. Squat down and put your hands on the floor while kicking your legs out behind you; you can now do one push-up. Next, hop your feet forward and raise yourself back to a squat, then jump up, straightening your body and raising your arms over your head. This completes on repetition.

Do 2-3 set of 12-15 reps.

2. Dumbbell Lunge To Overhead Press

Get rid of muffin top with these 5 exercise moves - Dumbbell lunge to overhead press




For this exercise, you’ll need a pair of dumbbells. Start in a standing position, elbows bent so you’re holding the dumbbells in front of your shoulders. Lunge forward with your right leg; at the same time, lift the dumbbells straight over head. The right knee should not pass the toes, the left knee should be close to the floor.

Lower the dumbbells while returning to the standing position, then repeat with the opposite leg to complete one repetition.

Do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps.

3. Dead Bug

Get rid of muffin top with these 5 exercise moves - Dead bug

Lie face up on a yoga or exercise mat. Bend your knees up so they are directly over your pelvis, and lift your arms toward the ceiling.

Lower your right arm backward, over your head toward the floor while simultaneously straightening out your left leg. Do not let your hand or foot touch the floor, and keep your abs tight. Return to the start position and repeat with the opposite hand and foot. That will complete one repetition.

Do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps.

4. Kettlebell Overhead Swing

Get rid of muffin top with these 5 exercise moves - Kettlebell overhead swing

Stand with your feet at shoulder-width, with a kettlebell slightly in front of you. Squat down and take the handle in both hands, then raise up slightly, keeping your hips back and your body straight.

Let the kettlebell swing back between your legs, then use the momentum to swing it forward and up directly overhead while simultaneously rising to a standing position. At the top of the swing pause for a second, then return to the squatting position, along the kettlebell to naturally arc down between your knees again. That completes one repetition.

Do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps.

5. Stability Ball Back Extensions

This is a simple exercise that uses a stability ball. Balance yourself face down on the ball, with your hands by your ears.

Keeping your toes on the floor, lift your upper body until you form a straight line from heels to head. Pause for a second in this position, then lower yourself back to the start to complete one repetition.

Do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps.
